Whatch out for the hottest new Scum ship to hit the scene for the X-Wing game: the light Scyk Interceptor. Let’s run this little ship through the build laboratory and see what pops out!
The Scyk Interceptor was a ship that was rarely used in X-Wing. Perhaps this was due to the fact that it has 2 hull; the lowest in the game. It has 1 shield, so its hardiness is comparable to a TIE fighter, but for some reason people were scared to fly this ship.
A recent FAQ has changed the “Heavy Scyk” Intercptor title to add 1 hull in addition to the other normal upgrades that the title comes with. This boost the Scyk out to 1 shield and 3 hull, a little sturdier.
Another common complaint with the Scyk was that it costs too many points to be in your squad, since you have to add the title to make it a cannon platform. The latest upgrade to drop for this ship that helps that out is the “Light Scyk”: interceptor title upgrade. This title reduces the ship’s cost by 2 points, makes all banks green, but all damage dealt to said ship will be face up nor can you equip upgrades. This seems hilarious in that everyone said it was too fragile, and they made it more “light”! Having all damage dealt being faceup is not such a big worry since you only have 2 hull. Let’s make this new title work for us.
Grab a Tansarii Point Veteran, add the “Light Scyk” Interceptor title and add Elusiveness.
This gives you a 17 point ship with a free elite slot. Elusiveness helps to mitigate the crits coming in by forcing the opponenet to reroll an attack die. The stress is easily taken of since all of your banks are now green. This should be a fast and dodgey ship that could be taken in a swarm.
