Flashback Friday – Piggly Wigglies

By GMM Studios | March 21st, 2014 | Categories: 40k Flashback, Armies on Parade, GMM, Hordes

Hello everyone! Brandon here from GMM Studios with a little blast from the past.

This is Flashback Friday, where I revisit old armies I have painted from the past.  I have painted thousands of models and who knows how many huge armies on commission, and each one holds a special place in my heart.

A little sweat, a lot of love, and some collaboration with another person and who knows what you can create!

I enjoy looking back every once in a while at the photos and remembering the joys and struggles, the hard work and the pure enjoyment of making someone’s vision a reality. But enough of that emotional stuff, let’s get on with it! I miss you, baby!

This week’s article is on a Hordes piggy army I did a few Halloweens ago.  And of course, you can’t have an army of pigs without Lord Carver Esq. III (above).

The warbeasts in this army are really cool models.  I loved the gun boar since it came out, because it reminds me of a conversion I did for my very first Warmachine model when the game first came out.  I love the look of big models toting cannons on their shoulder.  Then of course you cannot miss the other 3 huge pig-monsters.  The only thing scarier than a pissed off piggly wiggly is one that is half machine with a mohawk.

The infantry have a good bit of variety as well; some guns to compliment the melee powerhouse of the warbeasts, and some support in the form of the rest of the units. I love how even the infantry look overgrown despite being just 30mm based models.

That’s it for this week!  Check in next Friday for more trips down memory lane. Always feel free to follow on twitter or facebook if you prefer.  Thanks for reading!
