Way back in the day before Battlefleet Gothic, and before X-Wing Miniatures there was the Space Fleet “board game”.
I saw a picture of this posted the other day by Eric James von Hippel and it really brought back some memories.
Released in the early 90’s it was a neat little one off thing that was pretty cool for a hybrid board /miniatures game. It was however lacking in the replay value and depth of rules from what I remember.
Of cousre this was back in the day when Games Workshop did neat one off games, and not super splash releases every five seconds lol.
These days it seems like we need a happy balance in that regard! – MBG
