Star Wars X-Wing – Rebel Aces A-Wing Preview

Fantasy flight has decided to show us some more of the new Rebel Aces, sadly, its just the A-Wings as this time.

Will these updates help bring an underused ship into a more prominent role? lets find out!

First we see the guy previewed last time, Jake Ferrell. Still not a bad ability, getting a free boost or barrel roll when you get a focus.

Nice for getting in and out of nasty situations or putting your opponent in one. All in all not a bad ability, but nothing too special unless you build around it for maximum silliness.

But the new guy, Gemmer Sojan, he’s, he’s something? Nothing too special in the ways of assisting your team for sure, he doesn’t bring anything overly powerful to the table either.

What he does bring is massive defense that lets you be super offensive while not giving up any defense. Gaining an extra agility at range one of enemy ships really diminish the enemy advantage for getting close.

Final thing they showed thats new is the Proton Rockets. 3 points for a 2 attack missile that gains a more dice based on the number of agility you have.

Not bad, till you read what it takes to fire it. A focus is required. Why?! Not sure I’m feeling that. It’ll require some work to get this to go off well, and sadly I don’t think its worth it for a one shot weapon. That and only a few ships can get the best benefits of this. Maybe it’ll be great once it hits, we’ll see.

Pretty simple preview, but sadly I myself am not feeling these ships. I wasn’t a huge fan I’ll admit of the A-Wing when it came out after a bit and these new updates aren’t doing it for me either. Perhaps they’ll own face and make me look stupid when they come out. Till then, thanks for reading and have a great day.
