heresy mark i 1 blood and skulls

We have a delicious resin treat for you today! No, it’s not from Jolly Ol’ England but made right here in the Good ol’ US of A.

Blood and Skulls industries has a TON of conversion and upgrade parts for some kits you’re familiar with but also some stand alone kits as well. Blood & Skulls recently got into acrylics too; making templates and measuring tools for games like X-Wing.

The Taurus Conversion Kit (Predator conversion) and the Ares Conversion Kit (Mark I conversion) are essentially Mark I Rhino Conversion kits. If you’re into Heresy or just want your stuff to look like they’re from Rogue Trader these kits are for you.

They bolt onto a standard Rhino; all the parts are modular. What I really love about this is that it’s a really affordable way to get your entire army looking the way you want it; with these two great products. Both conversion kits work well with the current Mark III Rhino kit just like Forge Worlds!

The Aeries upgrade kit

The Ares kit gives you two side plates with two side hatches, a bunch of smoke stacks and some top hatches. These are very familiar looking parts and sell for about $20. Of course you’ll need the Plastic Rhino for these parts to work; so this works great if you have some Rhino’s laying around. Alternatively, if you’re looking for the Forge World version, which is the complete kit, you’ll be looking at about $57.

You’ll need to shave down the smoke stacks a bit. However, when you do, the sides will sit in flush. Then the doors and the smokestacks slide right in giving you that old school feel. You’ll notice there’s a place for a magnet so you can quickly turn the Rhino into the predator version.

You'll need to shave down the exhausts

One thing I do want to point out is that Blood and Skulls Industries (BSI) has done a great job of putting some divots into the sprue so that you don’t have to get nervous, like I do, when you see thin resin and big chunks of sprue.

That divot tho

What that divot does is keep the part from snapping when you go at it with side clippers. Then all you need to do is go at it with your seam scrapers and tighten it up. I’m a big fan of it as it makes assembly really easy.

You can tell the designer really went the extra mile to make this kit with us Hobbyists in mind.

Next up, the weapons for the predator variant that I’m a big fan of. It comes with magnets for the side sponsons.

The Taurus upgrade kit

The Taurus comes with the top plate, the turret and he also has a peg and hole system. His tolerances are very tight. It would almost stick together. The kit includes the holes for your magnets.  Everything works together really well because of such good tolerances.

The look is stylish and very classic Grim Dark. BSI also offers a complete set of various weapon options from assault cannons to plasmacutioner-style, they got you covered.

Blood and Skulls Industries is a high quality, low tolerance, customer focused company that gives us a unique but still games-workshop-esk look that not only fits in great in the universe but makes your army really standout in a good way.
