FALLOUT 40k – New California Republic AdMech Army

1dunecrawlergunner

Today I want to show off my completed Fallout NCR themed Adeptus Mechanicus army. I thought what better place to reveal the finished product than on Spikey Bits.

Ever since I saw the Skitarii models I thought they would make great rangers from the Fallout New Vegas NCR faction. I tracked down some heads that fit the theme using  a mixture from Pig Iron Productions and Dreamforge stormtroopers.

As you know Fallout takes place in a Post Apocalyptic United States. I wanted to have the same feeling for any of the cult mechanicus robots and skitarii vehicles so I tracked down some transfers from the Dust Tactics game. Here are the end results. I am not a professional photographer, my studio is my back porch.

P.S. I didn’t make Liberty Prime my titan for two reasons. I did not have a base model to use at the time, and he was clearly a Brotherhood of Steel Robot not a New California Republic Robot.

Here is Sarge with some other weapon options as I magnetized and pinned all of them. I know a lot of people would have much rather seen a Titan than closer resembled Liberty Prime, but I didn’t really think much of it and by the time I did I couldn’t think of a base model to use for it. That and I just don’t think I could of done Prime justice.

I also did another head swap for the Kataphrons. I wanted to stay away from the cyborg look and go for a streamlined robot look. These were also from Pig Iron Productions. I also managed to fit a star on the shoulder pads.

A close up of one of the Skitarii Vanguard squads. As you can see this is where I tried to recreate the look of the NCR Ranger

Thanks for checking it out. Can’t wait to share some more of my projects with you guys.

I have been playing and painting 40k since 2001. I'm a sucker for new models so I tend to switch armies every couple of years or so. After 7th edition came out I dropped out of tournaments from my local stores and have been focusing more on the hobby aspect of the game. I still play and enjoy the game just not on the competitive level.
