Bloodreavers

Shadows Over Hammerhal Villains Blood Reaver

Bloodreavers will be familiar to most fans of the Mortal Realms. These are the cannibal-marauder tribesmen dedicated to the Blood God Khorne. Many who dwell beneath Hammerhal are the remnants of the Flayhounds, a Bloodbound warband that was scattered by the Hammers of Sigmar when the city of Hammerhal was founded. Whether born-and-bred savages, or recent converts, all are blood-thirsty killers who seek not just to defeat, but probably also eat, your heroes!

These guys may not be the best unit money can buy, but where they lack in survivability they make up for it with their attacks. This is definitely a strength in numbers unit, so don’t go light on them.

Kairic Acolytes

Shadows Ove rHammerhal Villains Kairic Acolyte

Kairic Acolytes make a return to Warhammer Quest. We saw these guys in Silver Tower, and now they are back with a few new tricks. In many ways, they’re the mirror of the Bloodreavers – subtle where the reavers are savage, and devious where they are deranged, but this makes them no less deadly. Like the Bloodreavers, they attack in numbers to overwhelm your heroes with blades and magical bolts.

The Kairic Acolytes is another unit we’ve seen before, and much like the Bloodreavers, the Acolytes do a lot better when they have a friend around, or 10… Wonder what the “few new tricks” will be…

Putrid Blightkings

Shadows Over Hammerhal Villains Blightking

Putrid Blightkings are the durable and repugnant followers of Nurgle. The Plague God greatly desires to once more hold dominion over the lands of Ghyran, where half of Hammerhal rests, so his servants are ever finding ways to corrupt the flourishing city. In combat, these warriors are almost a match for your heroes one-on-one, so you may find you need to gang-up on them or use your abilities and powers cunningly to gain the advantage.

Nurgle is making an appearance with these Blightkings minis, and they have a face only a mother can love. Not quite a ready for 1 on 1 combat, the Blightking are a little more beefy than the rest of the models that come in the new box. But, using your powers and abilities wisely, mix that with some Bloodreavers and Acolytes, and you have a great little attack squad forming.

Lord Redomir

Shadows Over Hammerhal Villains Sorceror

Long has he, and sorcerers like him, attempted to draw the attention of their lost Chaos God, but to no avail. Now he thinks he may have found a way to locate and awaken his gorged and sleeping deity. Gathering to him followers of Chaos and binding them with promises of bloodshed, mayhem and desolation, he has forged an alliance and seeks to fulfil his destiny…

Lord Redomir is a Chaos Sorcerer Lord of Slaanesh. He’s bringing magic and some hard hitting attacks that will be sure to level the playing field of Hammerhal.

Strength in numbers appears to be the theme for the Villains. Will you be playing Shadows Over Hammerhal? Is this team of Villains what you were expecting to see coming out of the box? What are your thoughts? Let us know in the comments below.
