New Genestealer Neophyte rules have been spotted for the new Shadow War: Armageddon game! Come get the latest on this hot new game!
Miniwars got their hands on a copy of the rules for the Genestealer Cult Neophytes, and how they’re going to play in the new Shadow War: Armageddon game. This is turning out to be an eventful week for Games Workshop new release announcements and information! Let’s take a look.
All 3 Neophyte units have the same statistics with the exception of the Initiate unit have a leadership value of 7. The point difference between the 3 units is going to reflect the Wargear they can take. The Neophyte heavy is coming in at a cost to recruit point cost of 10, and can armed with items from the Genestealer Cult Hybrid Hand-to-Hand Weapons, Pistols, Special Weapons, Heavy Weapons, Ammunition, Grenades, and Miscellaneous Equipment lists. The Neophyte Hybrid has the same options with the exception of having to choose from the Basic Weapons list instead of the Special Weapons list. As far as the initiate goes, it seems there might be a typo.
The second sentence in the Wargear section for the Neophyte Initiate is written Neophyte Hybrid, with the same exact rules. Is this an error on someones part, or do they have the same exact rules as the Hybrid soldiers? There’s only a 10 point difference between the two, 50 points for the Initiate and 60 points for the Hybrid. It’s possible their rules are the same and the difference in Leadership makes up for the point cost difference. Either way this is some great information to have, we can kind of judge what other factions units and point costs might look like.
