Come see the five easy steps to painting some amazing autumn leaf strewn bases just in time for all those 8th Edition 40k hobby projects!

Welcome back Hobby Maniacs!   Rob is back to share with us the 5 easy steps to making amazing autumn bases in today’s hobby tutorial!  We’re working with plain GW bases today, no fancy resin or extra costs, just good old fashion hobby work!

Autumn Bases

Step 1 is to apply a thick layer of Vallejo Pumice Stone over the top of the base.  This will dry to a nice rough texture and quickly and easily give us the illusion of earth without all the fuss of glue and sand!

Step 2:  Once the Pumice Stone Texture is dry we can paint it a dark brown color and dry brush it with a series of increasingly light sand tones to give it a nice rich earthy color. (Checkout the exact colors in the video tutorial below)

Step 3, We apply a couple of tufts of Gamers Grass to the base with a little bit of Elmers glue to secure it down.

Step 5: All you have to do is take some black and repaint the edge of the base!  This helps to give the model a more ‘display’ quality and really cleans up the appearance.
