Steal Your Opponent’s Abilities: X-Wing Tactics

By Barclay Montgomery | August 24th, 2017 | Categories: Star Wars Tactics, X-Wing 2.0

Nien_Nunb_X-wingThe perfect way to counter your opponent’s abilities is to steal them! Use their own strengths against them with this new StarViper build!

Thweek is going to be the new Scum thorn in the sides of players everywhere. With his ability to steal pilot skills and pilot abilities, Tweek has a lot of versatility. With this build we will focus on his Mimic ability. With Mimicked, you can steal a ship’s pilot ability. Like IG-88D’s ability to use a 3 turn instead of a 3 bank for Segnor’s Loop? Steal it. Like Sabine’s ability to perform a boost or barrel roll before she performs a maneuver? Steal that too! There are endless ability options for Thweek.
Since having the StarViper Mk. II title is never a bad thing, let’s also equip it to get some mileage out of Virago. Subtracting 3 from your point cost is always good, and opening up the slots that it provides makes him dangerous.
Sensor Jammer is a nice upgrade to confound your enemy by making them reroll a hit result. This can either force them to spend a focus to regain the hit, or simply consider it a miss when no focus tokens are around.Depending on which pilot ability you steal, Pulsed Ray Shield may be the right choice for when you have to break engagement. This an help you regain your shield, and the Ion token doesn’t hold Thweek down too much, being a StarViper and all. Will Thweek be as annoying for your opponent as Torkil Mux was? Only time will tell for this Scum pilot.
