A New Phantom Arrives: Star Wars X-Wing

By Barclay Montgomery | November 28th, 2017 | Categories: Star Wars Tactics, X-Wing 2.0

Big things come in small packages, and the new Sheathipede Class Shuttle is a great way to show it off. Get ready for a new way to play X-Wing.

The Phantom II is an interesting new upgrade to the previous version of the Phantom that goes hand in hand with the Ghost. It can dock inside the Ghost and activate its rear firing arc, but more on that later. Fenn Rau is the pilot of the Phantom II this time, and he’s got one heck of an ability. When an enemy ship inside your firing arc becomes the active ship in the combat phase, if you are not stressed you may receive 1 stress token so that the enemy ship cannot spend tokens to modify its dice this round. This is a great disabling ability, all the while being able to use the coordinate ability to further assist your allies.

The Ghost title allows you to attach the Phantom II to its rear firing arc, and allows you to fire from the rear of the Ghost. It also gives you the ability to release the Phantom II after you have completed a maneuver.

The Phantom II title not only allows you to dock into the Ghost, but also give the Ghost the coordinate ability. This is amazingly useful for your squadron of ships and can coordinate actions together to defeat the Empire.

Chopper is here to help keep the Phantom alive. As an action, you may discard 1 other equipped upgrade card to recover 1 shield. Since the Phantom title card counts as an upgrade card, you gain 1 free use out of Chopper’s ability.

The new Phantom has the Rebels coordinating their attacks against the Empire. Victory is near!
