Are you ready for some Blood Bowl? Checkout this quarter’s new releases from the Almanac to sleeves and everything in between!
Warhammer 40k was not the only game to have releases from Games Workshop this week.
Blood Bowl had a solid wave of releases this week that focused on the Elves, Humans, and Orks. This review will focus more on the Almanac, Elves, and accompanying accessories. It is great to see fresh new content for Blood Bowl, as it adds to the ever growing game line up that Games Workshop has. Our very Own Rob Baer put some of these releases on his paint bench to give the breakdown on what you can expect to get if you decide to drop your hobby dollars on these releases.

This week’s Blood Bowl releases include the Blood Bowl Almanac, which is a 140-page supplement that has the 2 Death Zone Seasons, some content from White Dwarf articles, League rules, star players, and more. The there is the Elfheim Eagles team kit that contains 10 miniatures, 2 turn markers, 2 double-sided score coins, and 6 balls. The Elves also have their own pitch kit and a Team Card Pack. Finally, we have nice set of dice for the Elves and a pack of card sleeves to keep your Team Cards safe.
The Elfheim Eagles kit contains 12 miniatures that are broken down into 6 Linemen, 2 Blitzers, 2 Throwers and 2 Catchers. What is really nice about this kit is that the heads have different faces to select from. The general layout of the model assembly and facial variants has a nice Necromunda feel to it. The team does have male and female Elves mixed together so do not be surprised when you find 4 female breatplates while assembling your linemen.

The Inaugural Blood Bowl Almanac: $50
Compiling together the 2 Death Zone Seasons available so far, with some fantastic content from White Dwarf articles content added on, this is an essential book for every Blood Bowl coach. Contained in the 140-page hardback:
– Official League rules! This is a guide to running a Blood Bowl league, taking you through drafting and maintaining teams, dealing with casualties, earning and spending Star Player points, playoffs and continuing into new seasons. Includes a blank roster/match record sheet;

– An FAQ! This provides clarity on a number of rules based on feedback from the Blood Bowl community.
Elven Union Pitch: $38
A double-sided card Blood Bowl pitch, complete with matching dug-outs, this is the perfect place for your Elven Union teams to play. One side features a perfectly manicured grass pitch with an Elven Union symbol delicately mown into the centre, the other is a frozen field entirely covered in ice by the swirling winds of magic. The dug-outs are themed to match, with opulent marble boxes and gems everywhere – they feature score trackers, reserves, Knocked Out and Serious Injury boxes, Down trackers for both halves, and a re-roll tracker.
The pitch is made to the same specifications as the board included with the Blood Bowl boxed game, and includes rules for playing on a frozen pitch.
The Elfheim Eagles: $35
The Elfheim Eagles are notable for eschewing the fancy outfits and extravagant parties of Elven teams past in favour of drills, training sessions and even more drills. The fans may have disapproved at first, but after the Elfheim Eagles nudged out Nurgle’s Rotters to win Blood Bowl XX they became known as one of the finest passing play teams to ever grace the pitch.
This multi-part plastic kit contains the components needed to assemble The Elfheim Eagles, an Elven Union Blood Bowl team. The team consists of 6 Linemen (4 of which are actually Linewomen), 2 Blitzers, 2 Throwers and 2 Catchers, each of whom are as impressively-cheekboned and beautiful as you might expect from an Elven team. The heads and shoulder pads are interchangeable between the miniatures, meaning your team can look unique.
There are a host of extras in the kit – 2 turn markers, 2 double-sided score coins and 6 balls, 4 of which are encrusted with opulent gemstones. Supplied with 12 32mm Blood Bowl bases and an Elven Union transfer sheet.

This is a pack of handy reference cards for an Elven Union Bowl team, along with blank cards allowing every coach to create their own players! Contained in the pack:

The life of a Blood Bowl coach can get a bit boisterous, and sometimes terrible things happen to your precious Blood Bowl cards – spillages, wear and tear, even spontaneous combustion. Protect your cards, then, with this set of 50 transparent card sleeves designed for your cards to fit within snugly. They even feature a big gold coin on the reverse. Everyone loves gold coins!
