Star Wars: Legion is nearly here and Fantasy Flight Games has a preview of Luke Skywalker and the Rebel Alliance Forces!
The latest preview from Fantasy Flight Games provides us with a look at the Rebel Alliance Forces that will be part of the core set when Star Wars: Legion launches in March. This preview covers Luke Skywalker, Rebel Troopers, the salvaged AT-RT, and how they will work together right out of the box.
Luke Skywalker is your commander option and is cheaper than Darth Vader by 40 points. He has a Speed 2 movement tool and can make a move that ignores terrain with Jump 1. His Charge ability will allow you to make a free melee attack when you get in close. Using Anakin’s Lightsaber, he can roll six black dice and has Impact 2 and Pierce 2. Having a lightsaber makes Luke immune to Pierce and the Deflect ability. Deflect will allow him to turn defensive surges into blocks and deal damage back to the attacker if you have a Dodge token.
Rebel Troopers charge into battle with A-280 Blaster Rifles, which are more accurate than the Empire’s E-11 blasters. They are also Nimble which gives them a Dodge token after they spend a dodge token in defense. The drawback is that Rebel Troopers wear very little armor and this is reflected by them using a white defense die.
Last is the salvaged AT-RT. It may not be a match for the Imperial AT-ST but its armor will keep it safe from most fire, save for the luck critical hit. They do have abilities which allow them to move up and over terrain that would impassable to other units. They can tear through armor with their Grappling Claws and has a selection of ranged weaponry to choose from to fill their single hardpoint. A more in-depth preview of the AT-RT will be coming soon.
