GW Reveals Next Week’s Wave 2 Deepkin Releases

gw store shot wal horGames Workshop just gave us a preview of next week’s pre-orders, and it looks we’ll be seeing Wave 2 of the Idoneth Deepkin releases for Age of Sigmar!

Games Workshop just gave us a big teaser on what’s due to come out next week. It looks like we’re going to be seeing more Idoneth Deepkin releases for Age of Sigmar. Let’s take a look at what they had to say and see what’s coming our way next week.

The Idoneth Deepkin are reinforced next week with three new units – the dual-build Akhelian King kit and the Namarti Reavers.

Namarti Reavers are raiders and scouts for your Idoneth Deepkin army and are ideal for holding objectives, slaying enemy war machine crew and generally making a nuisance of themselves on the tabletop.

Namarti Reavers

You’ll find Namarti Reavers a fun and flexible unit to use – for one, they can shift their mode of fire depending on how close they are to an enemy, either carefully picking off the foe at range or releasing a storm of arrows if they’re a bit closer to their targets.

Namarti Reavers Weapons

The new Namarti Reavers are going to have two different ranged attacks with the Whisperbow. The first one, Aimed Fire, has an 18″ Range, 1 Attack, 4+ To Hit/Wound, doing 1 Damage. The Storm Fire option is the same with the exception that it has a 9″ range with 3 Attacks. The Aimed Fire option will be good during the first couple rounds allowing you to lay down fire from the back while you’re getting your troops in place. But, if you’re playing against a fast opponent, or they sneak past your front line, Storm Fire is going to be your go-to choice, giving you two additional attacks at half the distance.

Meanwhile, the Akhelian King kit offers you two choices – an Akhelian King of your own invention or Volturnos, High King of the Deeps himself – a very special aelf indeed.

Idoneth Deepkin Volturnos

Volturnos isn’t just the greatest living Idoneth Deepkin – he’s also rumoured to be the first ever aelf created by Teclis, and is the last surviving member of the Cythai, the first, tragic generation of aelves to be created. Over the years, Volturnos has proven himself a talented commander and peerless warrior, siding with many enclaves and proving instrumental in transforming the Idoneth Deepkin into a powerful and established race.

Akhelian Kings are the ideal leaders for Idoneth Deepkin armies, offering a powerful command ability with Lord of Tides:

Idoneth Deepkin Lord Of Tides

Lord of Tides is going to be a great Command Ability for an Idoneth Deepkin Army. If Volturnos is your General, and you’re in the High Tide ability from the Tides of Death table applies for that battle round, you’ll be able to pick a friendly Idoneth Deepkin unit wholly within 12″ of your general. That unit will get a +1 to the Attacks characteristic of melee weapons until your next hero phase. Put that on your infantry units, charge in, and unleash even more attacks than your opponent was expecting.

This week we’re seeing the releases continuing for the Idoneth Deepkin, and the Volturnos model is looking absolutely amazing! We can’t wait to get our hands on these minis!

Make sure you check back in with us tomorrow for the full list of releases coming out later this week, as well as their prices.
