Hidden in Plain Sight? New GW Basing Material

sm chaos wall hor question 1

Hidden in plain sight? Check out a new time-saving hobby supply that may have just been revealed right under our noses by Games Workshop.

Some questionable basing material was spotted on the reveal of Naggaroth Nightmares for Blood Bowl.

Hidden in Plain Sight? New GW Basing Material

Warhammer Community made a post about some Naggaroth Nightmares coming to Blood Bowl. But what really caught our eye was the basing they were on. We may be seeing kits for easy basing in the future if our suspicions are correct.

Tuft to Tell

First of all, the models are great-looking. But check out the basing, there are no break-ups like most grassy bases have.

Look at this Orc, for example. There’s some runoff on the side of the basing and you can clearly see a layer of brown dirt mixed in. (we know sometimes it’s intentional to have some dirt show) but it seems like the Naggaroth Elves basing is flawlessly green.

Taking a peek at these two, it looks like they were literally peeled off of surface like a sticker and slapped onto the base. You can actually see a solid green layer underneath all of the grass. The edges of the base are missing more of the grass so it’s easier to spot on the rim.

It would make sense that GW would come up with some kind of quick-and-easy basing product to throw onto some Bloodbowlmodels. It wouldn’t be hard to make a grassy sticker for them. The flat grass would match perfectly. You could eve take some white paint and get some field markings on the bases for some extra detail.

The real question is if these kits are real, and will be coming out. From there, will they get more complex and start adding depth, rocks, and elevation?

If they do, AoS, 30k, and 40k fans would gobble them up in a heartbeat. This is all speculation as nothing has been confirmed.

What would you think about some pre-made bases that you could apply like a sticker? Would you buy some and if so what kind would you want? Let us know in the comments of our Facebook Hobby Group.
