Lancer

Asajj Ventress has taken the Shadow Caster for a ride, and it is surprisingly tough! Come and take the Lancer for a spin in X-Wing 2.0.

Asajj Ventress

Shadow Castin’ Shade: X-Wing 2.0 Ship Build

Asajj Ventress is a formidable pilot in a large ship with a crazy ability to mess with your opponents’ actions. At the start of the Engagement Phase, you may choose 1 enemy ship in your turret arc at range 0-2 and spend 1 Force charge; that ship either gains 1 stress token or removes 1 green token, their choice.

This has an impressive range and only requires your turret, so a quick turret rotate action can snag your target in a pinch. This leaves them vulnerable to attack or weakens their offensive output against you.

Shadow Caster

The namesake title, Shadow Caster, can give your opponent even more headache as it further messes with their maneuvers. After you perform an attack that hits, if the defender is in both tour front primary and turret arcs, the defender gains 1 tractor token. This can be used to boost or barrel roll them out of arc to prevent attacking Asajj and reduces their agility by 1 to make them more vulnerable to a follow-up shot. Pretty devious!

Latest Razz

To make the Shadow Caster even more tankier, Latts Razzi is a valuable crew member to include in your squad. While you defend, if the attacker is stressed, you may remove 1 stress from the attacker to change 1 of your blank or focus results to an evade. Asajj can give that attacker a stress at the start of the Engagement Phase, so Latts makes a great partner. Internal Dampeners

If you want to catch your opponent’s ships in your sights, and off guard, use Inertial Dampeners. This Illicit upgrade effectively gives you a 0-speed maneuver to hold in place; perfect for when an enemy is lined up in your primary and turret arcs. Your Shadow Caster, Asajj, and Latts abilities are unaffected by the stress token, so this can be used without fear of losing too much on action potential.

Stealth Device

Finally, a Stealth Device can make the Shadow Caster even more difficult to take out. Until you are hit by an attack, Asajj will have an agility of 3, not bad for a large ship. With Latts on board, this can make an effective defensive strategy to take enemy attacks head-on in the Engagement Phase and come out unscathed. Use your Lancer ship as a tanky support with Asajj Ventress in X-Wing 2.0!
