They’re back! Don’t miss this super easy eBay hack to get your old models back on the tabletop, fresh and ready for battle!

Next Level Painting is about to show you the best way to get some eBay rescues back on the tabletop and ready. These out of print Nurgling models will be given the special treatment to make sure they are looking their best.

If you find some pre-painted models on eBay, you don’t always have to strip them. Sometimes the best route is to accentuate the previous owner’s paint job, mixing and blending these colors to make it pop.

eBay Hacks

To start off, these Nurgling models already have some decent paint on them, so the next step will be to add some washes, going with dark browns, reds, and whatever looks good on this model. Use these washes really thinly to cover the areas that may have missed some paint. These models are very small, so staying thin is best here, while these washes get mixed around the model.

Next, use some greens to help exaggerate the previous greens, keeping the original paint flow going strong. These thin colors will help blend the other paints together, moving to brown highlights on the brown spots on these Nurglings.

One of the Nurglings is a blue tone, so add a little more blue glazing to blend these old colors with the new.

The detailed bits of these Nurglings are painted as well, but since these models are so small, you don’t need to get super detailed. A red color will be used to add a ripple highlight on the detailed portions, such as the maggots on these Nurglings.

Focus on the mouth too, and pull out the red staining on the teeth and mouth area. After these colors dry, go back to the greens to add more highlighting and definition in the earlier greens and browns.

The bases are also addressed in this tutorial, utilizing pumice to add texture and stippling on your base. Pile the pumice up and wait for it all to dry. Add some soft body Vallejo Black to drybrush over the pumice and your base will bring this reclaimed Nurgling swarm to the Next Level!
