The Assault Frigate is the lone medium class ship in the Rebel fleet. It is most often used as a broadside platform for its large and strong battery armaments. 3 red and 1 blue make up the left and right arcs, and 2 red 1 blue in the front and rear respectively. With one key upgrade, every battery armament can be the same!
Spinal Armament is a turbolaser upgrade that adds 1 red die to the front and rear arcs of your ship. With this equipped, each firing arc of the Assault Frigate will be 3 red and 1 blue. This makes every battery arc of the Assault Frigate equally deadly!
Since this build will not be focused on broadsides, Gunnery Teams as a weapon team is out. Veteran Gunners can give you a re-roll on your attacks. While attacking, exhaust Veteran Gunners to re-roll all dice in your attack pool. This can give you more consistent hits when the red dice are fickle.
To give the Assault Frigate a defensive boost, equip Reinforced Blast Doors. With 6 hull on board, the Assault Frigate is pretty beefy, but with 3 extra hull, this medium sized Rebel ship won’t go down without a fight!
