Step 1 of your basing involves priming your base black and making sure your model will fit on the base selected. Next, grab some Army Painter Uniform Grey to create a light misting of grey. After your grey has dried, it’s time to move to the brown paints.

Grab some Citadel Rhinox Hide, load it in your airbrush, and start spritzing across random areas of your base. This will start to accent the base. Next up is Skrag Brown on the previous Rhinox Hide areas. Feather it into the darker browns to solidify your dark colors.

Citadel Celestra Grey is a great paint to dry brush over the entire model after you are done with your brown highlights. Give a liberal dry brush over the entire base. Citadel Ulthaun Grey is your follow up dry brush after the first.

The last step is to grab some Vallejo Black Primer paint and color the side of the base for a nice contrast. And that’s it! Not too bad for a base painting tutorial. Quick and easy like we like it! Tune in for more hobby hacks and tutorials from Spikey Bits!
