GW Reveals What Could Be Next For Aeronautica Imperialis

Aeronautica Imperialis AI wal

Don’t miss what may be coming next for Aeronautica Imperialis as there might be more to the game than we think. Check out the latest Live Stream highlights.

Coming from WarhammerTV’s Live Stream, it looks like there might be more to Aeronautica Imperialis than just ‘Umies Vs. Orks. These are some of the highlights of what was discussed on the stream.

Highlights on What Could Be Next For AI

Going for what looks to have been mentioned on Stream:

  • AI is a standalone game and not considered a boxed-game. It is in the same standing as Titanicus, Necromunda, etc.
  • Unless no interest is shown, GW plans to complete the game with five total factions.
  • Five factions for the game are already designed (and we’ve seen Orks and Imperium already).
  • If you get the Rynn’s World book, you don’t need a core book. (They both have basic rules inside).
  • Plastic and Resin (FW?) upgrades already in production
  • Scout Class should be populated soon.

It goes without saying that the most exciting mentions were the three more factions and plastic/resin upgrades. With resin being named as a material, that is pretty much a dead-giveaway of Forge World’s hand being involved with the models.

We know there is a super ork bomber coming that was never a 40k scale model, and there are tons of other aircraft that could fit into the game quite easily as well.

On wings of blood

In the war-torn galaxy of the 41st Millennium, battle for the blood-soaked skies is fierce and deadly. Brutal Space Marine gunships and Imperial Navy fighters duel against flying horrors, alien interceptors and Chaos craft of every hellish design, for the supremacy of the air is as vital an objective as any battlefield.

Plus if this Black Library book is any indication, the groundwork may already be set…

However, with all that said, GW is still watching the game to see how popular it is in the community. Apparently they plan on adding a total of five factions into the game, but only if there is enough interest. Looking at the community prior to the game’s release, it definitely seemed to have a “mixed” vibe. However, on release weekend, stores are reporting higher than anticipated sales!
