Hobby RescueeBay Miniature Rescues is back with another tutorial, and this time he’s tackling an Arkanaut Admiral and sending him deep into the sea!

eBay Miniature Rescues is a unique channel that shows you how to take beat up, damaged minis, and restore them to their fullest potential!

It’s a relatively new channel on YouTube and it’s super fun to watch what Casey is able to do with some once hopeless miniatures. This week, he shows us how he would paint an Arkanaut Admiral for AoS.

Rescuing an Arkanaut Admiral: eBay Miniatures Tutorial

dwarf armorThe first steps are a Vallejo Copper base over a solid black primer coat. Then, with some Liquitex Burnt Umber Ink, you can do a sort of highlight technique to the shadows. Just to give the darker areas some more depth. Follow this up with a tiny amount of Daler Rowney Dark Green on the armor to get a headstart on the weathering. After it’s all dry, do a quick wash of Citadel Agrax Earthshade.

Miniature RescueNow move onto Citadel Nihilakh Oxide and add it over a lot of the model. Using it similarly to an oil wash, Casey advises to add generous amounts of it at a time, then wipe the excess away with your finger. If you find that you put too much on, you can add water to your brush and push the excess around.

Miniature Rescue With some Citadel Necron Compound Dry do a top-down drybrush. Use Citadel Screamer Pink for the neck pillow and hammer handle. Follow that up with a wash of Citadel Druchii Violet over the pink. Then highlight those same areas with Citadel Screamer Pink and a touch of white.

With that, the Arkanaut Admiral is fully completed!
