Games Workshop just unveiled another new rumor engine and this time it looks like it could be a ton of different possibilities! Check out the details of the latest model that looks to be on the way for 40k or AoS from Warhammer Community.
This one is a little different though, as they released the first image in the morning, then took it down and put a new one up. So we have both below for you.
It’s interesting because in theory to make that kind of mistake the file names on GW servers must have been the same meaning they are probably linked, and well most likely something either new for Daughters of Khaine or perhaps the long-awaited Shadow Elves…

Some New Spoils of War: GW Rumor Engine
Starting off with this rumor engine, there isn’t a whole lot to go off… An Axe, a Sword, some skulls, and a shield with an Icon. The Icon is the only real hint, but as it’s a shield supposedly not being wielded by anyone it isn’t very helpful. It could be a new Terrain piece or maybe a base for a new model.
To our eyes, the icon seems to resemble Morathi, a large winged figure with a long body and huge tail. However, even if it is Morathi what does it mean? Is it another breadcrumb leading to Shadow Elves and Malerion/Malekith?
However this bit was already seen, actually it has even been released already:
The Second Romor Engine of the Day
This is all they said about a different image in there:
All the poking we’ve been doing this month is making the Rumour Engine smoke and shudder a bit, so we’re giving it a week off to calm down. Before that, here’s one more image it’s pulled from the future.
What’s that? The image has changed. The Rumour Engine really must be on the fritz…
Looks like there won’t be a rumor engine next week after all the new Adpeticon Previews either.
So what could this one be? It’s obviously quite a thin leg, so that leads us to believe it could even be something for the rumored Umbraneth minis coming sometime late this year or in 2023. It also has a vibe much like the Dark Elves but doesn’t have quite enough spikes for a Drukhari model.
Looking through the Dark Elves though, the boots of the hydra handlers are awfully similar and we actually heard rumors about a new mini. So, it could make sense as a new kit would be on the way. Plus, it really needs one…
As you get close to the boots, they are super similar. So, we wouldn’t be surprised for either just some more Dark Elves, Umbraneth, or a new Hydra!
