The Renegade Wargaming – Spring Up GT happened over the weekend and saw Tyranids Warhammer 40k army lists in the top spots!
The tournament is over and now we’re able to look at which lists managed to secure a place at the top! Check out what these winners brought in their armies.
Renegade Wargaming – Spring Up GT: Top 40k Army Lists
Thanks to Best Coast Pairings we are able to look back at the event as if we were there ourselves.
If you wanted to see the names and factions of the overall winners, we’ve included that below.
3rd Place: Ryan Wienke – Tau
2nd Place: Jerimiah Petit – Custodes
1st Place: Charlie Andre – Tyranids 40k Army Lists
Charlie went for a battalion of Tyranids led by a Neurothrope and a Flying Tyrant. The Neurothrope provides a cheaper body with some psychic support, while the flying Tyrant is an absolute beat stick.
Troops bring in 10 Hormagaunts for some cheap bodies and a total of 14 Warriors, which are slightly more elite and offer better stats and weapons.
Elites bring in a Deathleaper, a Maleceptor, 3 Tyrant Guard, 6 Venomthropes, and a Zoanthrope. The Deathleaper is a very aggressive melee unit that can deep strike in and then fight first to help ensure it takes out a model or unit.
The Maleceptor is another melee threat but with the added benefit of having some psychic support and pumping out some mortal wounds. The Guard are some more simple melee units that are decently durable. Venomthropes are cheap models that have a pretty decent shot at pumping out some mortal wounds over the course of the game. Lastly is the Zoanthrope which is another psyker with some potential for bonus mortal wound output.
Fast Attacks close out the list with a Mawloc and 12 Raveners. The Mawloc is a large durable melee threat and the Raveners are some more durable threats, with some extra ranged capability to help clear out opponents from range.
