Games Workshop has many events this year at Gen Con, so it won’t be hard to get your fill of Warhammer at the convention!
From the looks of it yet, there seems to be no preview, but they may wait until a little closer to the event to announce it. Also, they put every demo for each game as an event, so that adds a lot of events; but there still is a lot to do!
They have everything from sealed games (where you get a fully built and primed team/army you can take home with you) to full-on tournaments to laser tag. We’ll take a closer look at some of the events, but obviously, there is way more we can show you, so if you want to see everything, you can here.
Games Workshop Has 223 Events at Gen Con This Year!
With 223 events in 2022, this is just a tiny sample of what they have going on, but as you can see, many of the events are already sold out, so if you see an event you want to attend, don’t wait too long, or you might not be able to attend.
Warhammer 40k Rogue Trader Tournament: $60
Come duke it out on the fantastic US Open Terrain over three rounds in this Matched Play, 2000-point tournament! This event will award ITC points.
This still has some spots left and getting ITC points is always nice, so if you want to play, you can!
This tournament will utilize the most recent Chapter Approved: Grand Tournament Mission Pack. The rules and FAQ/Errata cut-off will be two weeks before the event. Best Coast Pairings will be utilized for pairings/placings. The Battle Ready standard will be in effect for this event. Player pack forthcoming. This event will also feature fantastic prize support from Games Workshop!
With prize support directly from GW, you should get some good prizes. Plus, with the cut-off two weeks from the event, basically, everything new will be in the tournament.
AoS Tournament: $60
Bring your glorious armies and play three exciting rounds of 2000 points on the amazing US Open Terrain in this Matched Play Event. This tournament will utilize the most recent General’s Handbook. The rules and FAQ/Errata cut-off will be two weeks before the event. Best Coast Pairings will be utilized for pairings/placings. The Battle Ready standard will be in effect for this event. Player pack forthcoming. This event will also feature fantastic prize support from Games Workshop!
Similar to the 40k event, there will be GW prize support for this one as well. There are still tickets (at the time of writing this), so if you want to play, it might be the perfect tournament.
Blood Bowl- Sealed Team Game: $60
Come ready to play a streamlined game of the ultimate tabletop sports game! Your ticket includes a random, fully assembled, and primed team that you get to use right there – and then keep as your own!
This is pretty cool as for $60, you get to play the games and grab a fully primed and built team that you can keep! While it is random, getting a team and playing an event for $60 will be hard to beat.
