Printed Puppetswar Insectoids Tyranids Alternatives: Unboxing & Build
You can see that you get a huge discount on one-off files from their normal website if you are part of their Patreon (40% off). So, while you can buy this file on its own, joining their Patreon for $10 will get you a ton of other files and significant discounts on single-file purchases.
In May, they had some pretty wild files, including the Orkmobile and Bruise Pain! Every month includes Marines, Orks, and Tyranid alternatives, so even though we’ll be focusing on the Insectoids this time around, don’t forget you get multiple other factions to download too.
The Patreon has been running since 2021, and every month they just crush it! This is part of the Welcome pack, which includes files for several popular factions.
Printed Insectoids Minis: Puppetswar Patreon
This is Rob’s favorite, and it’s just a fantastic mini when printed out! Rob printed this to 25-Microns which is pretty standard. It does take a decent amount of resin, but it goes together super quick and looks great.
The Brian Bug is just another amazing mini, and they come with some extra bits as well, so you can really make them your own.
The guard bug looks excellent, and they have some extra bits so that you could use this as a couple of different units.
Everything is appropriately sized for use in 40k.
Then, they have plenty of other models that make for perfect alternatives, and the Stalker bug is perfectly posed and so dynamic!
There are tons of options for these, and with one eye missing, you might be able to guess what you could use this as…
Obviously, they have plenty of smaller bugs that are perfect for your Gaunts.
Last but not least, they also have some flying and burrowing bugs! Overall, the Insectoids are very cool looking, and as a full line, Rob thinks they look better than some of the Games Workshop Tyranids.
