BoLS got their hands on the new Curse of Magnus Supplement book, and are sharing:

Now take a look at the rules they just posted for the Thousand Sons Weapons:

Once everyone was past the initial shock the questions starting pouring in – what the heck kind of weapons are they carrying? We aren’t here to spill the beans on every new unit in the book – you need to buy it for that, but here are the weapons of the Thousand Sons. Note the “Warpflame” special rule is unchanged from the rule in Codex:Chaos Daemons.

The Soulreaper Cannon and Heavy Warpflamer are particularly impressive.

So these are proving to be a little different than what was rumored over the weekend, but that does not diminish their “gotcha” factor are all. With that much AP3 basically “stock” you can’t just ignore these guys.

The real question may what their BS profile is before we conclude just how good the new weapon options will be for sure. Right now, for me, I’m starting to teeter on how effective these guys will be without gaining some sort of abilities like re-rolls or lower AP options from spells or formations

Inferno Boltguns, the return of AP3!

The Termies on the other hand may prove to be tanks and the basis of future deathstars in that can just take ridiculous amounts of firepower and emerge unscathed. Sure they’re slow, they’re meant to be right? However once in range they will do some work with their guns. Plus you can hide non wargear upgraded Cabal sorcerers in there too!

Seems like Chaos has way more tactical options starting now. But don’t forget there are 8 more legions to get rules here soon as well, and who knows what craziness will ensue when the Traitors Legions book drops!

What do you think so far of their new weapons, and how effective then can be for the points?
