Not only are special detachments, and stratagems coming in the 40k Vigilus campaign, check out advancements on certain factions that are happening as well.
Coming from CaptainBetts on Reddit, he’s taken all the biggest points for the faction updates in the Vigilus campaign and put them in one spot. Let’s break down what’s on the way.
Faction Updates in Vigilus
Tau and Necrons won’t be showing up on Vigilus. GW wanted to keep things fluffy and didn’t want every faction in the Galaxy converge on one planet.
Space Marines In Vigilus
Again, mini-marines aren’t going anywhere.
GREY KNIGHTS ARE NOT GETTING THE PRIMARIS TREATMENT.
It’s nice to know that GW said themselves that the mini Power Armor Marines aren’t going anywhere, even if it is from a second-hand source. On top of that, it makes sense that Grey Knights wouldn’t get the Primaris treatment. I mean technically no one even knows they exist.
Genestealer Cult In Vigilus
GSC will still be able to bring Guard/Tyranid detachments along with them. However, GW made a point to bring the faction up to a standalone army. The Cult Ambush table will be getting a slight buff from it’s most recent nerf to “No Turn One Deepstrike”.
Would you believe that the previews for Cult aren’t stopping? According to CaptainBetts, even more Cult releases are coming.
They have tried to make them stronger as a standalone army – said that many GSC lists were just a tiny amount of GSC, and then a load of Tyranids and/or IG.
Strongly suggested they’d be getting subfactions.
The codex adds a load of options to the army, it’s almost a complete replacement (said in relation to subfaction keywords especially).
- Cult Ambush is getting something turn 1 – not the full deep strike like it was pre-FAQ, but “something more” than just a 9″ pre-game movement (a la Alpha Legion/Stygies/Raven Guard).
- The releases shown today aren’t the full set of releases – there is more to come.
Recent Cult Model Previews
Take a look at the latest rumors on the Cult Codex.
We’ve just gotten the Abominant/Aberrant models and stats in Tooth & Claw. However, we still have yet to see any information on the models above, past their model sculpts.
What more could GSC have on the way for them? Which previewed model is your favorite? Do you think GSC will be the next meta heavy-hitter?
