We’re back unboxing the new big releases for the Orks! Rob sees what it takes to get them ready for the tabletop, shows the size of the models, and tells you the GOTCHAS to be aware of when building them!

This is one of the higher boxes we’ve seen in terms of value, so even though they are push-fit without all the weapon options, this is hard to beat. People were upset about the push-fit and some of the options, but if you need the units, the value is really there. The community seems pretty 50/50 on it, so you’ll have to decide for yourself on that.
40k Orks Combat Patrol Value: What is it Worth?

Again this is one of the higher boxes we’ve seen in terms of value, so even though they are push-fit without all the weapon options, this is hard to beat. Most of the time combat patrol values are in the $70-$80 range, so this going up to $100 is pretty solid now that three of the four units inside have been released on their own even.
That gives it some even more intrinsic early access value, plus in theory veterans can just mix in some of the new models into their existing squads too.
Sprues & Instructions
The box is actually pretty chonky and there is a lot going on inside. Taking a look at the Warboss, he has a lot of nubs for gluing it together, but you can always clip those off if needed. Nothing looks too bad on him and he should go together in minutes.
The Boyz basically have two options for the regular ones. Then there are a few options for special weapons and the Nob. This is where people are upset because you don’t get enough options for what guns you want if you’re building full squads.
The Deffkoptas really aren’t too many pieces, they look fairly easy to build and seem to come with some extra arm options. Also, each sprue seems to be self-contained in its own sprue.
The Warboss looks really dope and is quite a big sprue. Considering it’s on two full character sprues. Even though it is push-fit, it does look great.
The Koptas’ sprue looks decent and nothing looks too hard to build when looking at the sprue. Again, not a ton of options, but Orks are easy to convert, so not really a big deal.
There are two of these Boyz sprues in the box. There are a ton of bits on this but again, it is all push-fit. There’s not a whole lot you can do with them, but push-fit is nice when you’re building up so many of them.
Built Minis
Putting them together is so fast, it takes longer to actually cut everything out than to put them together. You can barely even tell where these are split. When it comes to design, these are great.
The Boyz look good, they are dynamic, they have the right stature, and overall are great. The issue comes in with they pigeon hole you into a very certain setup. If you’re a current Ork player, however, these are perfect to throw into your existing squads and mix the feel of them up. If you’re a newer player, they probably won’t even care.
The Deffkoptas go together super easily and they are extremely sturdy on their bases. You can even rotate the blades on top if you just push-fit them.
Size Comparisons
Obviously, the Warboss makes the Primaris look like a small little guy, just as he should.
The Boyz are a little smaller than a Primaris, but the size is pretty decent.
Lastly, the Koptas are much bigger than a Primaris.
Overall this is an interesting box that should entice some people into Orks, and help veterans build up their forces faster.
