40k-homebrew-army-listsChaos Space Marines scored a spot as a new homebrew Warhammer 40k army list from the Nottingham Super-Major!

Check out this excellent homebrew list that emerged in a tournament over the weekend that once again shows that sometimes it’s more about the general’s skill than what you play.

The Nottingham Super-Major: Samuel Smith – Chaos Space Marines 7th Place

As another great showing of Chaos Space Marines, thanks to Samuel, maybe more people will start to accept their viability!

His list was two detachments, with the first being a battalion of Black Legion led by Apostle for Prayers, alongside a Master of Possession and a Sorcerer in Terminator Armour to lend some help in the Psychic phase!

Troops start with eight Accursed Cultists and ten normal Cultists for decent body shields and cheap models. They are followed by the slightly more expensive and more elite Legionaries for some all-purpose bodies in the mid-board.

Elites start bringing in the higher point values with a COntemptor for ranged power and 10 Terminators for some serious threats in ranged and melee combat while being very durable to boot!

Elites then end with 5 Possessed for melee threats and a Decimator for a good armor threat with decent ranged weapons that can easily clear chaff.

Fast Attacks close out the battalion with a single Spawn to round out points to 2 and two Vemoncrawler, which are surprisingly point-effective armored units with good ranged and melee weapons.

The list then closes out with the big baddie himself, Abaddon. Like many of the big faction leaders, he provides a good amount of supportive buffs for his allies. On top of that, he has a fantastic set of weapons and stats, effectively making him a mini-Primarch that can rival even Guilliman himself!
