Games Workshop is hiring a new merchandise manager that could help reduce allocations, region locks, FOMO, and all the problems from the release of the Lion.
Are you the person to turn it all around? Honestly, this would be excellent news if they get someone in there who can keep the caps higher, the scalpers away, and get more new releases to people. It’s interesting to see this position drop just before the colossal release debacle for the Lion 40k primarch. But to be honest, for the past two months, there have been some pretty insane allocations.
Perhaps GW needs someone new to help keep the 10th Edition releases flowing and not messed up (as it says you will handle one major product category). Either way, will you be the one to keep the GW products flowing across the world?
This will be a Nottingham-based job, so either you want to live there or be there already. Also, this job opening ends on the 30th of April. Let’s take a look at the details!
Games Workshop Hiring New Merchandise Manager
Let’s hear about who Games Workshop is looking for and what they expect from this Merchandise Manager:
Do you want to be part of a high performing team, delivering exceptional results for all of Games Workshop’s customers across the globe?
Are you passionate about results, and would you find planning and managing inventory across Games Workshop’s international retail, online and wholesale channels exciting?
Can you readily alternate between short and long term thinking and are you enthusiastic about working with others to get to a resolution whatever the challenge?
In this job you will play a critical role in managing one of our major product categories. Your core responsibilities will be to develop stock and range plans to ensure we have the right products, in the right places, at the right time. You will work with a wide range of talented colleagues to make the world’s best miniatures available for all of our customers, whenever and wherever they want them. You will proactively manage inventory across all channels and territories, ensuring that new products are launched on time.
We know that this role is challenging. Coming up with a plan to generate sales growth every single month, ensuring that inventory and stock provision are managed to within demanding targets, and doing all of this whilst retaining a focus on customer service, and profitability, is tough. For the right person though, these are challenges to be relished.
To stand the best chance of being successful in this role you’ll need bags of resilience and experience in supporting and growing a multi-channel organisation. You’ll also need to build great working relationships, possess excellent organisational skills and have the ability to communicate detail as well as ‘the big picture’.
