1st Place: Jeff Jew – Orks Army Lists
If anyone still thinks Orks are just loud green comic relief with bad grammar and worse aim, Jeff’s winning list at the Wet Coast GT 2025 probably hit them in the face with a power klaw and stole their snacks. Even without More Dakka, it looks like Orks still rule.
Leading the charge—both literally and narratively—is Ghazghkull Thraka, the prophet of the Waaagh! and walking definition of “problem.”
Backing him up are two Painboyz. These guys aren’t surgeons, but they’ve got pliers, a strong constitution, and no concept of hygiene. Their job? Keep the big ladz alive. They’ll staple a Nob back together mid-fight and call it a Tuesday.
Then come the Warbosses. Two of them. With rerolls and brutal melee presence, they’re less “commanders” and more “motivational beatings.” The army moves better when there’s someone around who yells louder than the rest.
Two units of Boyz fill out the green tide, acting as objective grabbers or battlewagon passengers—depending on what Ghazghkull’s pointing at.
For mobility, Jeff threw in two Trukks and two Battlewagons. They’re fast (by Ork standards), carry a decent punch, and provide just enough armor to get the Boyz where they need to be, which is usually straight into a fistfight.
Need to shoot stuff? Flash Gitz got you. Two units of these heavily armed, heavily egotistical shoota-freaks clear out light infantry and then brag about it for hours. They’re not subtle, they’re not cheap, but they are loud, proud, and covered in gold teeth and custom guns.
Holding objectives or eating overwatch? Enter the Gretchin. Two units of them. They die like it’s their job—because it is. They’re the smallest, squishiest part of the list, but they’re also weirdly important when you need someone to stand somewhere and not ask questions.
The Meganobz are here to krump. Big armor, bigger weapons, and absolutely no chill. Drop them near a target and watch the problem disappear. They’re not nimble, but that’s what the Stormboyz are for—rocket-powered Orks with melee dreams and no regard for landing safely.
To round it all out, Jeff brought in two units of Tankbustas. These lads aren’t fancy, but they have one job: remove enemy armor from the equation. They do it well, they do it loud, and if they blow themselves up in the process, all the better.
2nd Place: Brandon Cating – Astra Militarum Army Lists
3rd Place: Ken Bush – Astra Militarum Army Lists
Final Thoughts on Army Lists
As we wrap up our dive into the Wet Coast GT 2025, one thing’s clear: the battle lines are drawn, and it’s a wild ride with Orks and Astra Militarum leading the charge! Jeff Jew proved that Orks aren’t just about loud noises and green skin—they’re a force to be reckoned with, armed with power klaws and plenty of cheeky swagger.
Meanwhile, Brandon Cating and Ken Bush showed that the Astra Militarum can bring some serious firepower to the table, showcasing tactical prowess that keeps the enemy on their toes.
The performance of these armies really puts an exclamation mark on the ever-evolving nature of the competitive Warhammer 40k meta. Looking at those winning army lists and how their tactics work together can really give you some great insights for improving your strategy. It’s a smart way to up your game!
