AoS 4th Edition Maggotkin of Nurgle Rules

The Children of DecayHere is the latest on the Maggotkin of Nurgle rules for the 4th Edition Age of Sigmar from Warhammer Community. Nurgle’s all about those life cycles. Sure, he’s into filth and disease, but it’s all in the name of new growth. Think of it as the universe’s way of recycling. His followers, who affectionately call him ‘Grandfather,’ are more than happy to spread his gifts (poxes and plagues) everywhere.

These grossly loyal armies of Nurgle, known as the Maggotkin, are a walking, rotting testament to their master. They’re not just spreading disease; they’re welcoming daemons and chaos into the mortal world, all part of Nurgle’s big, stinky plan.

Battle Traits

Battle TraitsThe warriors of Nurgle carry the Plaguefather’s blessings, making them walking incubators of nasty maladies. Each unit can infect an enemy in combat, spreading disease faster than gossip in a small town.

The more the pox spreads, the more damage the Maggotkin can inflict, turning the tide of battle with pestilence.

Battle Formations

Battle Formations

The Tallyband stands out as a carnival of decay among the four battle formations. These armies boost the damage of Nurgle’s diseases, featuring everything from exploding mortals to rotfly cavalry.

And let’s not forget the horrid gardeners planting Feculent Gnarlmaws to bring Nurgle’s garden to life.

Arcana and Incantations

Arcana & Incantations

Nurgle’s got a fan club of foul sorcerers who are all about mastering life’s ups and downs. These twisted magic-users are drawn to Nurgle like moths to a very gross flame. In return, Nurgle hooks them up with spells that rot, infest, and mutate everything they touch.

One of their favorite tricks is “Fleshy Abundance.” This charming spell makes cankerous flesh erupt from its targets, healing deep wounds and patching up allies. Or, if they’re feeling extra nasty, it creates disgusting blobs of fat that make enemies’ attacks less effective.

4th Edition AoS Rules: Maggotkin of Nurgle Warscrolls

Great Unclean One

Great Unclean OneNurgle’s top dog in the daemon world is the Great Unclean One—a massive, rotting behemoth of daemonflesh that strides into battle like a walking landfill. This grotesque giant exudes an aura so foul it melts flesh and rusts metal on contact.

These bloated titans spread pestilence by unleashing a toxic Plague Wind and can summon backup from the Realms of Chaos as a Locus of Nurgle. They’re busy keeping Nurgle’s ranks filled with fresh (or not-so-fresh) bodies when they’re not flattening foes with their sheer bulk.

Sloppity Bilepiper

Sloppity Bilepiper

These colossal creatures don’t fight alone. They’re joined by a merry band of lesser daemons, including the Sloppity Bilepiper. This cheerful Herald of Nurgle prances around with infectious energy, playing creepy tunes on his Jolly Gutpipes that get everyone into the diseased spirit.

Harbinger of Decay

Harbinger of DecayThe Harbinger of Decay is more of a gloomy fortune-teller. This hunched soothsayer brings an epidemic of misery wherever they go.

Even with their somber demeanor, Harbingers channel Nurgle’s divine decay magic. They read the Omens of Decay, lowering an enemy unit’s control score by twice the current battle round—two points in the first round, four in the second, and so on.

Putrid Blightkings

Putrid Blightkings

These disease-ridden priests roll with the Putrid Blightkings, beefy warriors whose weapons are as filthy as they are deadly, ranging from scythes to hefty mauls. These guys are tough as nails with a WARD (5+), making them incredibly hard to take down.

The Bleak Host Spearhead is a motley crew of mortals and daemons, all herded together by a sinister Spoilpox Scrivener acting as their twisted overseer. This Spearhead’s forces break down into smaller groups: a lone Pusgoyle Blightlord and two packs of five Plaguebearers. Half of these infectious fiends only show up later in the battle through Daemonic Summoning. But don’t worry, Nurgle’s got their backs.

“Spearhead” is a standalone game that’s just right for diving into epic battles in Age of Sigmar. It’s small enough to fit on a kitchen or coffee table, and you only need one Spearhead box to get the games going for the 4th Edition.

The best part? You can snag free downloads with different rules, warscrolls, and objectives.

The Maggotkin of Nurgle are on a mission to spread Grandfather Nurgle’s joyful diseases to anyone unlucky enough to cross their path. Sensible enemies will do everything they can to dodge these pestilent party favors.
