The internet has struck once again with some big leaks from the upcoming Leagues of Votann codex! If you’re thinking about playing Leagues of Votann, these new rules are a great way to decide what to build your army around from the upcoming codex book!

Be sure to check out all of these articles on the new Leagues of Votann 40k codex rules below:

Leagues of Votann Army Box

leagues of votann army set

The first wave of Kin includes Ûthar the Destined – who you can also build as a Kâhl – a formidable Einhyr Champion, three nippy Hernkyn Pioneers, and 20 Hearthkyn Warriors who can be taken as two squads of 10 to fill out a Patrol Detachment.

It’s the first place to acquire the 104-page Codex: Leagues of Votann – with an exclusive cover no less – alongside a pack of 50 datacards and two transfer sheets filled with the symbols and logos of the major Leagues. Everything in this set will be available separately later – except that exclusive codex cover.

The box looks like it will basically be a 500-point list. More or less a Combat Patrol, but with two HQs, so we’ll have to see if they just rebox it for a Combat Patrol later on or release something new.

Leagues of Votann preview 3The Leagues of Votann Army box set will have a decent number of new models inside, just like the Beast Snaggaz, this will be released early with the codex.

Leagues of Votann codexThe codex will arrive separately after the army box, so if you want early access, you’ll have to grab this release!

Leagues of Votann Stratagems

Leagues of Votann Rules 4For one CP, you give a unit two tokens! For one CP, basically, every unit in your army is auto-wounding on 5+! Pretty insane.

votann stratagemsAncestral Sentence is nice as it lets you re-roll the hit rolls, and since they have tokens on them, those re-rolls can turn into auto-wounds! Huntr’s Mark is actually insane with the Magna Rail Cannon, since it’s only one shot, this guarantees you hit, and at strength 14, you should be wounding and dealing all that damage.

Then, Cyberstimm Infusion will make your Beserks even more deadly in melee, and for 1 CP, re-rolling all missed hits is quite nice.

votann stratagems 2It’s actually cool you can give Theyns and Hesyrs relics, as some specifically say they can affect the entire unit. Also for 1 CP, you can basically make it so a unit’s action never fails, which is nice.

votann stratagems 3Reactive Reprisal lets you shoot back, and if it was just some small arms fire that doesn’t take out too many minis, it can be really strong. Combat surgery can be super strong, as returning D3 models for 1 CP is just nice.

votann stratagems 4Being able to shoot after falling back for 1 CP will always be a good stratagem. Then, Concussion Blast will be an excellent way to stop your units from being overwatched, and subtracting one from the hit rolls is also just nice.

High Council Rules

Votann CouncilThey’ve been doing this for all armies, so it’s nice to see some upgrades for the Leagues.

Votann Council 2Adding 6″ to the range of psychic powers is kind of insane, especially considering most are somewhat short-ranged. Not to mention they get to manifest another power! Then, reducing CP costs is always nice, especially with the recent reduction of CP.
