The Power of the Blue Side? Star Wars Destiny

By Barclay Montgomery | May 12th, 2017 | Categories: Star Wars Destiny, Star Wars Tactics

The Blue villains are coming! Star Wars Destiny is about to get a whole lot more cards, and we will see what the Blue side of things has to offer.

Assajj Ventress is a formidable Blue Villain character. Her die boasts 1 melee, 2 ,melee, 1 focus, 1 disrupt, and 1 resource. But her character ability is what makes her so dangerous. After an opponent discards a card from their hand to reroll dice, Assajj can force them to choose and discard an additional card from their hand. This is an excellent to get extra discard on your opponent, and make them pay dearly whenever they want to reroll their dice by discarding!

Lightsaber Pike is a new Blue melee upgrade that would go great with the Royal Guard Villain character. This 3 cost upgrade has 1 melee, +2 melee, +4 melee for resource, 1 shield, and 1 resource on its die. It also comes with a built in action that allows you to remove its die to give a non-attached character 1 shield. Use this action to protect the Emperor!

Anger is a great card for those rolls that just make you mad! Whenever you roll your dice and you have at least 2 sides that are blank, you may play this card and instantly resolve an opponent’s die showing damage as if it were you die. This is a great way to deal damage to an opponent as well as remove one of your opponent’s die.

Lightsaber Throw is a nifty event card that allows you to deal damage to a character. For 1 resource, you can deal 2 damage if your dice are showing melee damage. This can be a great way to get some unexpected damage into your opponent if you are a playing a  melee oriented Villain deck.

The Emperor does not like failure and if you do fail, you know the price. The Price of Failure is an endgame card that allows you to defeat one of your characters to ready a character, Much like the Hero card Noble Sacrifice, this card can be a way to deal the final damage to one of your characters that has outlived its usefulness and reactivate another healthier character that could potentially end the game. For example, a Royal Guard may suffer the Price of Failure to reactivate Palpatine to roll his heavy damage dealing dice back into the pool to deliver the killing blow! So thematic.
