AoS Items Disappearing From GW Shelves?

gw wallpaper warhammer store fronA Games Workshop store has just announced they will no longer be restocking some AoS products on their shelves. Are we seeing a new direction for Age of Sigmar?

Games Workshop Lincoln posted on their Facebook page that there is a large group of Age of Sigmar items that will be leaving the store for good. Let’s take a look at what they had to say and take a look at the stock that’s leaving their store.

Hey!

We have a range of items which will no longer be stocked in store, so if you want to pick anything up before it leaves Warhammer Lincoln, drop in before it disappears on Wednesday.

For now this is the only store we’ve seen that’s getting rid of their Age of Sigmar stock, and they gave no reasoning as to why they’re not going to be restocking it. Also some of those items such as the Allies bundles were just released in August even.
Are these just overstocks, or is this a product shift in  preparation of the “dark new age” for AoS that we saw last week from Games Workshop.
Meanwhile, in the Mortal Realms, something dark is gathering, and the age of hope is drawing to a close. Just look at the new Warhammer Age of Sigmar logo:

Is a dark new age dawning? Did someone just go a bit mad with the Agrax Earthshade? We reckon this new Chaos hero might have something to do with it:

 Darkoath Warqueen

If you remember the Darkoath Chieftain from Warhammer Quest Silver Tower, this warrior woman is his boss – although unlike standard bosses, she’s more likely to deal with sub-par performance by ripping someone’s throat out with her teeth instead of giving them a 5 point list of actions to improve on (unless those actions are “tear the hearts from your enemies” and “despoil the realms in the name of the dark gods” and so on).

We’ve seen no mention of any other stores getting rid of their AoS stock… For now… So,  is Games Workshop starting to pull back the current AoS stock from its stores to get ready for the new and improved, and much darker, version of Age of Sigmar?
How is Age of Sigmar doing in your area? Has your local Games Workshop stopped carrying Age of Sigmar products? We’re curious to find out if this is happening in more locations. Let us know in the comments below.
