A Lone Sperado: Star Wars X-Wing

Kullbee Sperado is ready to begin combat maneuvers in a newly fitted T-65 X-Wing. Kulbee is clocking in at PS7 and has a nifty maneuver based pilot ability. After performing a boost or barrel roll, you may flip your Servomotor S-Foils card. This gives you more options when you are maneuvering to engage your prey. Let’s see what these S-Foils can do to help out Kulbee. servomotor s-foils

On attack approach, Kulbee can keep the S-Foils closed. This reduces his primary weapon value by 1 but gives him the ability to boost. Also this changes his 2 banks to green maneuvers, which can work great with BB-8 as an Astromech choice.

bb-8

Since Kulbee is based around barrel rolls, BB-8 is the perfect Astromech for him. Whenever you reveal a green maneuver you may perform a free barrel roll action. This allows Kulbee to approach his target with his S-Foils closed, reveal a green maneuver, do a barrel roll, then flip the S-Foils into attack mode, and THEN perform your maneuver. Not a bad little chain of events.

This opens up Kulbee’s primary attack back to 3 and gives him the barrel roll action. Additionally, if Kulbee reveals a 3 turn and he’s not stressed, he can treat that 3 turn as a Tallon Roll. That’s some serious maneuvering!

renegade refit

Kulbee Sperado can equip a Renegade Refit to his X-Wing to keep his points down, and also allow for 2 different modifications. Also, your elite upgrades will be reduced by 1 point. Not a bad card for adding more options to the humble T-65 X-Wing.

integrated astromech

An Integrated Astromech modification would be a good option for Kulbee. After he’s been in the thick of the fighting his maneuvering may not keep him safe for long, so, being able to discard a damage card without resolving his effect is a great way to keep in the fight that much longer. He will lose BB-8, but he will still be able to perform boosts and barrel rolls with his S-Foils. adrenaline rush

To keep the maneuvering theme going strong, add Adrenaline Rush to Kulbee to make him even more unpredictable. This card allows you to treat a red maneuver as a white maneuver at a critical time in the battle. This can be applied to his tricky 3 turn/ Tallon Roll at just the right time to get the upper hand on your opponent. The T-65 has a new lease on life in Star Wars X-Wing!
