The Perfect Bodyguard: Star Wars X-Wing

manaroo

Prince Xizor demands protection, and he has recruited a powerful ship to act as his bodyguard. Enter the Manaroo Bodyguard combo!

Manaroo JumpMaster 5000

Manaroo is back in action after getting lost in the Outer Rim. This time she is being hired for bodyguard duty to protect Prince Xizor. Manaroo can also help out by being able to assign all focus, evade, and target lock tokens assigned to her to another friendly ship at range 1. This can further boost Prince Xizor’s defenses and offense.

The Perfect Bodyguard: Star Wars X-Wing

Bodyguard is the perfect elite upgrade for this build. At the start of the Combat phase (which is also the same time that you can send over all your tokens) you may spend a focus token to choose a friendly ship at range 1 with higher pilot skill than you to increase its agility value by 1 until the end of the round. This can set Prince Xizor up with for success with an agility of 4 and all the token support he will ever need. Recon Specialist

Recon Specialist will be a must for Manaroo since she is dependent on focus spending. This will allow her to assign 2 focus tokens to her ship whenever she performs the focus action: 1 to turn Bodyguard on and 1 to send over to Xizor. Getting an early target lock in the game can also further help when you make your attack approach, being able to send that over to Xizor as well. Prince Xizor StarViper

Prince Xizor will be super equipped to handle the long game with all of these tricks to keep him alive, and that goes even further with his character ability. When he is defending, a friendly ship at range 1 may suffer 1 uncanceled hit or crit instead if him. With Xizor having agility 4, and tokens galore, even if he manages to have an uncanceled hit thrown at him, good ole’ Manaroo is there to take the hit for him. The tricky part will be to stay at range 1 of your Bodyguard. Veteran Instincts

Xizor will be most comfortable at PS 9, so equip him with Veteran Instincts. This will allow him to wait out other ship activations and see if he will need the protection of his bodyguard. If he is ok without Manaroo at his side, Manaroo can also contribute to the fight with her own tokens and maneuvers. Keep Prince Xizor alive and he will clean up any enemy forces that come his way with his new Bodyguard!
