Before we dive in, it’s important to acknowledge that Warhammer is a luxury hobby, and while it may be disheartening at times for some of us, Games Workshop has the right to set its prices as it sees fit. However, as with any product, customers have the right to express their concerns and offer constructive feedback. Despite this, the comments made about this situation were quite amusing, but it’s also clear that GW understands the demand for their products.

Recently, a pair of gamers felt compelled (allegedly by addition) to steal up to over $ 8000 worth of products from a Warhammer store to, in part, pay for their army but also to survive.  In some ways, this highlights the high cost of Warhammer products and how it can create problems for some fans. You can read more about it here, but let’s move on to the comments.

The Comments From $8k GW Theft Speak Volumes

$8k GW TheftThere were some other good comments for sure, such as, ‘It must have been easy to slip a single character into your bag.’ ‘They have a 2,000-point army now’, and ‘it looks like they can play some Combat Patrol games.’ However, Gavin seems to have the most accurate idea.

In under an hour, there were 20+ comments below on just Facebook alone, about how this is ‘basically just an army.’

While it’s somewhat hyperbole, prices and getting products are still quite wild. We’ve looked at how much it would cost to build an army, and that price just seems to increase every year. Even in 2022, armies cost right around $850, and that was for just a 2k list.

Most Hobbies Are Expensive, Including Warhammer

The prices of Warhammer products are undoubtedly high, and they continue to increase each year. There are also rumors of another annual price hike for February, which only adds to the frustration many people feel about GW’s pricing. While it seems clear that customers are becoming increasingly dissatisfied, it’s also important to remember that GW has a loyal fan base willing to pay a premium for its products.

As a result, it’s crucial to find a balance between providing high-quality products and keeping them affordable for hobbyists. In conclusion, while the high cost of Warhammer products may be frustrating, it’s important to remember that GW has the right to set its prices.

However, customers also have the right to express their concerns and offer constructive feedback. By working together, we may be able to find a way to make Warhammer products more accessible to everyone while ensuring that GW can continue to provide high-quality products.
