Games Workshop has stated to retailers that the release of Warhammer The Old World is officially delayed in North America.
Hobbyists eagerly anticipating the release of Warhammer The Old World in North America will have to wait a little longer. Games Workshop has officially announced a delay in the release of the highly anticipated game due to inclement weather and the closure of their Memphis warehouse. The delay is frustrating, but Games Workshop has reassured retailers that the orders will be prioritized once the warehouse reopens.
Warhammer The Old World Is Officially Delayed
The release of Warhammer the Old World is January 20th, 2024. However, it is now officially delayed in North America, according to Games Workshop. Late Tuesday, Games Workshop emailed out this message to retailers:
“Our Memphis facility is experiencing inclement weather that may cause delays in shipping. We thank you for your patience and understanding.”
To compound the issue, they were also closed on Monday (MLK day), which is understandable, but added another day to the delay as the weather turned bad early in the week.
Two days later, on Thursday, January 18th, Games Workshop emailed retailers in North America to officially announce a delay for Warhammer the Old World.
Memphis, Tennessee, is generally quite warm, but the entire US was hit with an arctic storm this week.
Currently, GW only has one warehouse for all of North America. With temps not climbing out of freezing on Wednesday and a mix of snow and rain on Thursday, there is officially no North American release of Warhammer the Old World for the 20th. So, if you ordered Warhammer the Old World products from Games Workshop, an online seller, or your local game store, look for more details about your deliveries next week at the earliest.
