GW Confirms New Thunderhawk!

ThunderhawkGames Workshop just confirmed the new Thunderhawk model will be released soon in resin! The rumors of the plastic model have passed into legend.

This is something we’ve all been waiting on, and it’s finally here. Let’s take a look at what Warhammer Community had to say about the new Thunderhawk model.

We can now announce that the Forge World studio are nearing completion on a brand new updated version.

This new resin Thunderhawk keeps the iconic and uncompromising outline of the Thunderhawk we all know and love, but also takes on a few design cues from other recent kits, like the Stormbird and Heresy-era Space Marine Legion tanks.

Pre-production model – there may be some slight differences in the final model.

For the moment, we don’t have anymore to show you, but you can rest assured this Lord of War will be touching down very soon.

In fact, we’re hoping to have it available first at Warhammer Fest this May

Looks like the goal is to have it ready for Warhammer Fest this may, and this is just a pre-production version of the model. How does this breakdown of the image we saw in Inferno compare to what we just saw from Games Workshop?

It looks like the forward Heavy Bolters could also be mounted akin to the Storm Raven.
The two plates on the side of the Cockpit look to be arranged subtly different to the FW one (where one seems to travel along the forward stability wing above by about 1cm and the other which goes vertically down). The possible redesign seems to have them both joining to the forward stability wing.
Wings look sleeker and more dipped too. The forward access ramp looks sleeker and narrower at the top too, and the ramp grips at the bottom don’t look as prominent.

Were you hoping for a more affordable plastic version?

The plastic Thunderhawk is no longer a rumor! Games Workshop just confirmed the new model will be released soon, but it will be resin!
