Warhammer World is proud to announce the first in an exciting new line of events dedicated to the fantastic Start Collecting box sets.

Playing five great games over the day, each player uses just the contents of one of the Warhammer 40,000 Start Collecting boxes with custom-written scenarios. This is a great chance for you to start a new army and play some small, fun games with it against like-minded folks.

Entry is totally free to anyone who buys a Start Collecting box set in-store at Warhammer World between 2nd July and 12th August; you’ll be given your ticket by the staff there and then. Don’t miss this chance to take part in a free event!

YOUR ARMY:

Your army is the total contents of any of the Warhammer 40,000 Start Collecting! box sets. All miniatures in your collection must be produced by Games Workshop and be fully assembled, painted and based. Each model must fully represent what you have presented on your army lists.

GAMES

Over the course of the day you will play a total of 5 games, each against a randomly selected opponent, which will last up to 40 minutes each. If you happen to blast through a game in a short space of time, feel free to replay the mission. However, the result from your initial game is the one that counts!

Games are played on a 4’x4’ table. The three deployment maps on page 131 of Warhammer 40,000: The Rules are in use. Decide with your opponent which one you want to use or roll a D6 to randomly determine which one is in use. Note: Some of the missions have special deployment rules, in which case, use those instead.

Seems like a great way to get new and old players alike motivated this summer. I wonder if something like this could be on the way for distribution worldwide to all stores, as GW seems to be doing more and more for organized play.

Don’t miss this one!
