Top 3 Undefeated 40k Army Lists From The London GT

space marine wal hor tourney

Don’t miss the top three undefeated Warhammer 40k army lists that crushed the London GT as the meta continues to evolve…

The London 40k Grand Tournament was a massive event bringing in over 300 players. With that said, the Caladius was pre-banned before the NERF so none of the lists included any of them. While nine lists pulled out victories in all of their games, we’ll be looking at the top-scoring three.

Thanks to Best Coast Pairings, we are able to look back at the events as if we were there ourselves.

It’s nice to see that even past Robbie G’s nerf, he’s still a totally viable option. Leading the charge with a Chaplain and Librarian, a Battalion of Scouts and Intercessors hit the field. Scouts make for great speed bumps and cheap objective grabbers while the Intercessors are a fantastic mid-field backbone unit. Beyond that, a 5-man Aggressor squad hung out (probably near Guilliman) getting to shoot twice with all of the rerolls.

For the rest of the list, a couple of Eliminators were taken as cheap character killers that can be deployed up the board. The Thunderfire was there to slow down enemy movement (or shoot twice) with its Stratagem support while the Repulsors parked next to Robbie G for all the dakaa rerolls. Great job on this list!

2nd Place: Aeldari Soup- Mani Cheema

Looking at this Eldar list, a Battalion was taken with three fatty squads of Guardian Defenders as a solid backbone unit on the field. With two shots a pop, they all have a pretty good chance at rending armor with -3 AP shots on 6’s to wound. To add some speed and even more shuriken firepower to the list, a nine-man squad of Windriders was taken and rolled with a Warlock Skyrunner.

With the S4 shooting covered, two Airwing detachments were fielded bringing the Exarchs that can pivot, move, and pivot again. Effectively shutting off an entire quadrant of the map with two.  The second Airwing detachment was a Kabal of the Black Heart for the nasty Agents of Vect Strat still being totally relevant in the meta. As for the units brought, two Voidravens were paired with three Razorwing Jetfighters. The Razorwings capitalized on poison weaponry while the Voidravens were the real tank-popping firepower of the force with two void lances mounted on each. Great job!

1st Place: Aeldari Soup- Anthony Chew

This list might run the same factions as the one above, but has totally different units. Staring off, The Crimson Hunter Exarchs in an Airwing detachment hit the field to deny the enemy a segment of the map. The Nightwing was some added firepower also getting the Wings of Khaine move, pivot, move rule.

As for added firepower and mid-field support, two weapons teams were taken to camp objectives and shoot rending shots at enemies that got too close. The Nightspinner was just a cheap chassis to bring even more shuriken shots to the table as well.

Looking at the Drukhari force, the Kabal of the Black Heart was taken for the Vect Strat (just as the list above). But for the ability to one-shot just about any kind of enemy armor, three Ravagers armed with three Disintegrator Cannons each hit the field. That’s essentially a total of nine las cannons on three models alone. And for even more flying spam, two razorwings were thrown in.

In total, 8 Flyers made it to the table with a mix of objective campers and shuriken firepower from the ground. This list came in first and is fairly unique to some of the latest Aeldari lists we’ve seen. Great job.

What do you think about these lists? Is Aeldari still able to contend with the new Space Marine rules? Would things had been different if the Caladius wasn’t banned?
