New Chaos Renegade Knight Sprue Pics SPOTTED

Chaos Knight

Don’t miss what comes in the box for the new Chaos Renegade Heretic Knight as pictures of the sprues have been spotted from Warhammer Fest

Overall, Chaos has gotten love poured out to them from GW this year. And while the Imperial Knight Codex is about a year old, the Chaos Knight models and codex are coming into the picture. We thought the age of Knights was beginning to die down a bit in 8th edition. However, these new gorgeous models might bring it right back in a new way.

Warhammer Community had the big reveal from the iconic Warhammer Fest 2019:

New Chaos Models & Codex Revealed

It probably goes without saying that we love Spikey Bits, but these kits appear to be a bit more than just the standard Imperial kit with a few spikes added…

Knight Rampager

Knight Desecrator

This kit is all-new and packed with grisly details that make it instantly recognizable as a dark mirror of its loyalist kin – all while maintaining great posability and plenty of options for customization. You’ll be able to build either a brutal Knight Rampager or the dominating Knight Despoiler, with a range of armor plates, faces, spikes and horns for making your Chaos Knight your own.

Accompanying the new Chaos Knight will be a fully fledged codex that lets you unleash the true might of the Questor Traitoris on the battlefield. All the Knight patterns from Index: Renegade Knights will still be usable, only now you’ll be able to combine them with Stratagems, Warlord Traits, Relics and, of course, Knight Rampagers and Knight Despoilers.

Chaos Knights Codex

New lore, meanwhile, will allow you to explore the shadowy history of the Chaos Knights – as much veterans of the Long War as their Heretic Astartes kin, with thousands of years of history behind them that sheds new light on the dark powers of Chaos.

If you’re not hyped yet, well shut the front door and look at these amazing pics from the event sent to us from James Martin.

The new Knight Desecrator looks to have a new weapon type as the battle, and thermal cannons are nowhere to be found on these models.

The Rampager seems to favor two close combat weapons just like the Imperials’ Gallant. Will he be right over 300 points as well?

The new book brings that more of that Iconic Raymond Swanland art, but looks to be a bit thin…

Heretical Armigers & Castellans Getting Love

It was only a matter of time before we saw the Castellans and Armigers fall to Chaos. The gods just can’t keep their hands off of whatever the Imperium manages to roll out of the factories. Do you think these Chaos Knights will have different weapon profiles from the Loyalists? Something like the Storm Cannon Array and Butcher Cannons on Leviathan Dreadnoughts?

New Sprue Pics For Knights Spotted & Pointers To Look Out For

Coming from Slabednah on Twitter, we’ve got exclusive sprue pics.

The Chaos Knight appears to be three sprues just like the loyalist Errant kit counterpart. One thing of note is that there is no gatling cannon (dual or otherwise) as that is currently an option from the Renegade Knight Index.

Chaos Torso & Feet Sprue

Overall, the Chaos Knight looks to have all of the same underlying structure aside from the legs. Of course, there are also a few extra Spikey Bits that really make it “Chaos”.

One of the key differences between the Loyalist and Traitor Knights is that the Loyalist’s left leg is pushed forward while the Chaos Knight has its right leg moved up. They also have different leg joints. The Imperial Knight is akin to a person’s knee while the Chaos Knights are closer to an Armiger, Chicken, Flamingo, whatever floats your boat.

Because we know some of you out there are going to be making some incredible conversions with these, we feel like you should exercise a bit of caution with the legs. It seems like they might have tricky glue-points for alternate armor plates because of the way the legs are modeled. While Chaos plates should fit fine to the Chaos legs, somebody might run into a few problems if they wanted to glue loyalist plates on there.

The loyalist ones use a wishbone shaped “Y” piece for the shins, and as you can see above below the thigh plates are completely different sizes and connectors.

The real kicker will be the knee/thigh plating for the Loyalist Knights. It looks like the Chaos Knights have a fixed knee guard on the thigh plate that hooks over the joint.

Meanwhile, the Imperial Knight has an entirely separate thigh and knee plate. We’re not saying it’s impossible. Just be careful it may not be plug and play.

An Alternative Now

If you are looking to convert your Knight kits into Chaos now, you are still in luck!  For around $85 Legio Models has a ton of upgrade kits that work great for the Questoris and now even Armiger frames.
