Starting Star Wars Destiny: Top 3 Imperial Deck Types To Know

By James Rodriguez | January 19th, 2017 | Categories: Star Wars Destiny, Star Wars Tactics

Emperor Palpatine

Today we’re going to take a look at the top 3 Imperial teams for Star Wars Destiny. Your feeble skills are no match for the power of the Dark Side.

It’s no secret that Imperials are usually coming out guns blazing, and these top teams are no different.

Vader Raider

Elite Vader & Tuskan RaiderDestiny Darth Vader Tusken Raider

These 2 synergize really well with one another. Vader forces your opponent to discard a card every time he activates. This allows you to discard a card to use the Raiders ability without having to worry about falling behind in the number of cards left in your deck.

Throw in force upgrades and lightsabers for Vader, ranged weapon upgrades for the Raider, and you’ll have a really well rounded deck that puts out good damage. At least if Vader goes down first you’ll have enough weapons on the Tusken Raider to continue chopping your opponent down.

Troopers! URGH URGH URGH URGH!!!

3x First Order Stormtroopers & Tusken Raider

This combo is geared towards fast, hard hitting, damage! The main focus point that will make this deck brutal is upgrades. When you’re building this deck you want as many weapons as you can get, blasters, rifles, grenades, and some melee for the raider.

Ultimately, if you roll decent, you can take down an opponent’s character in 1 turn. Put Nowhere To Run in there, which allows you to turn each of your dice showing a – to any symbol, and those 2 blanks on the Stormtroopers just made them even more deadly. You’re looking at 9 possible damage at the cost of 1 resource, if everything goes right.

Guns, Guns, and More Guns!!!

Elite Jango & 2x First Order Stormtroopers

Once again we’re seeing the overwhelming firepower of the Empire. Having 2 Stormtroopers to activate before Jango pretty much guarantees you’ll be able to use Jango’s ability every round. That’s a free activation and then you immediately get to perform another action. Get those upgrades out quick and start putting in work on your opponent’s Characters.

This list is strictly offense, and you can pretty much assume Jango is going to be the focus of your opponent, so get those shields on him, and upgrades on those Troopers.

Star Wars Destiny is still a fairly new game, so these top 3 lists could change week by week. This is just to give you ideas on how to start your decks. The more people experiment with different teams, the better the lists will get. So go out there, hit up your local game store, and Stay on Target!

All who gain power are afraid to lose it. Even the Jedi.
