Battle Droids On the March: Star Wars Destiny

By Barclay Montgomery | March 9th, 2018 | Categories: Star Wars Destiny, Star Wars Tactics

The Battle Droids in Star Wars Destiny are ready to march toward victory! Take a look at how these Droids can work together to defeat Jar Jar Binks once and for all!

The humble Battle Droid may not look like much, but their strength lies in their numbers. Being 6 points, you can fit a total of 5 in a standard deck in Destiny. Being designed for one purpose, their dice feature only damage options but can activate one after the other with their ability. After you activate a Battle Droid and it rolls indirect damage, you may activate one of your other Battle Droids, and so on. This can rack up fast!

With a health total of 6, these Droids have their days numbered. An E-11 Blaster is a cheap and effective weapon to equip to them. It has Redeploy, so as a Droid gives his life for the cause, he can toss E-11 to his buddies. It has ranged and indirect damage synergy with the Battle Droid die, and it opens up resource options. Resources will be tough to come by for a Battle Droid deck, or will they?

Since life is cheap for the Battle Droid, Aftermath can make up your investment in them. This 0 cost Support allows you to gain 1 resource whenever a character is defeated. Since the Battle Droid has 6 life, they can potentially die quickly, gaining you resources in the process. Extra bonus points when you start defeating your opponent’s characters!

Going along with the cheap Battle Droid life, Attrition can add up for your opponents. Whenever one of your characters is defeats, you may deal 1 damage to a character. This can result in some extra surprise damage that will punish you opponent for killing your poor Droids!

To get that indirect damage racking up, Fragmentation Grenades are cheap and pack a punch. If its die is resolved, you must discard this upgrade from play unless you pay a resource, but this can work to your advantage if a Battle Droid is near death, just forgo the resource cost before he is defeated.

Battle Droids don’t seem intimidating, but they can gang up and force your opponent into a numbers game that they can recover from in Star Wars Destiny!
