One Droid’s Trash is Another Jawa’s Treasure

The Villains have ways of abusing the discard pile in Star Wars Destiny. Come and learn how one droid’s trash is another Jawa’s treasure!

The scrap king himself is back in Destiny! IG-88 loves to use the discard pile as his means of adding value to his upgrades. Being able to play a Yellow weapon or Equipment to IG-88 at a 2 resource discount is an amazing way to get tempo on your opponent. His massive ranged sides to his character die help take out your enemies also, and he’s tanky enough with his shields sides too.

A new character breaking into Destiny is the Jawa Scavenger, the first Neutral Grey character! This humble little scrapper can be added to any squad and comes at a cheap 6 point cost. His ranged sides can support IG-88 in their damage output, but his ability can help IG-88 get more mileage out of the discard pile. After you activate the Jawa, you may discard one of your supports or upgrades that cost 2 or more from play to gain 1 resource. This can work just in the nick of time by using it right after IG-88 has rolled his special side.

A great way to round out this squad is by adding a Veteran Stormtrooper. Getting access to Red cards can be all you need to add him, but he can also help with damage output. Having 1 ranged, 2 ranged, and 3 indirect damage can really put the hurt on your enemies in a hurry!

A fantastic weapon for the Villains, the Relby-V10 is a pocket cannon. This weapon is perfect in the hands of IG-88 and can be used to enable the Jawa ability, and can then go right back into the hands of IG-88 with his ability!

If you somehow run out of resources with these characters, just become Resourceful in your tactics. This 0 cost Event allows you to spot a Gray character to remove one of your dice to gain 1 resource. This can help out if your roll poorly with one of your characters.

Since the new expansions of Destiny or featuring indirect damage, it’s a good thing that we have Bubble Shields! This 1 cost upgrade allows you to distribute indirect damage onto it until it has 3 or more damage on it. This can extend your characters health and can also serve as a cheap way to use the Jawa discard for resources ability!

The discard pile may be useless to some characters but the Jawa and IG-88 swear by it!
