Run Run Rudor: Star Wars X-Wing

Star Wars Tie SwarmValen Rudor is ready to crack down on the Rebels in Star Wars X-Wing and he’s got some new tricks up his sleeve in this new Tie build. Let’s get dangerous!

Valen Rudor is a pilot skill 6 TIE Advanced Prototype ship for the Imperial fleet. He has an interesting knack for getting into, and out of, trouble with his crazy pilot ability. After defending, Valen may perform a free action. This is where his pilot ability can come in handy as it’s not high enough to be activating first but can allow him to “cheat” out another free action before he does fire if he is targeted. Let’s start to build Valen up to be a pilot of Intensity!

Intensity is a great Elite upgrade for Valen. Since maneuvering can be crucial in X-Wing, barrel rolls and boosts can be life and death for Valen. Use Intensity as your free action after Valen defends, and you can perform a boost or barrel roll, and gain an evade or focus token with Intensity. If you are worried about having a token left over for Intensity’s exhausted side, it will take sequencing to get it just right.

The TIE/v1 title can help Valen get the tokens he needs. As a regular action, Valen can Target Lock an opponent and gain his evade token. This can be either used for defense if needed or as a means to flip Intensity back to it ready side. It will depend on your game state. This will also allow Valen to use Intensity as his defending action and could allow him to barrel roll or boost out of a firing arc.

Speaking of arc dodging, the old stand-by Autothrusters works wonders for the humble TIE Adv. Prototype. After you use your Intensity boost or barrel roll to dodge an arc, your Autothrusters will kick on and help you defend against any return fire that may come Valen’s way. Use your skills learned at the Imperial Academy and you will make it out alive!
