X-Wing Wave 8 is right around the corner! What better way to celebrate than to try and make some squad builds with the new ships.

Let’s take a look at what this wave will have to offer:

mist-hunter

PS 7 Zuckuss – Juke, Cloaking Device, Stygium Particle Accelerator, Advanced Sensors, Mist Hunter, Tractor Beam, 4-LOM = 39 points

Zuckuss is a crafty Gand Findsmen who comes on the the scene guns blazing. His pilot ability allows him to roll an additional attack die, at the expense of the defender also rolling one extra agility dice. His low agility of 1 is offset here by the Cloaking Device. Combined with Stygium Particle Accelerator and Juke, Zuckuss will have no problem making damage stick to his target. Add 4-Lom in and you have a ship that can lock down the defender’s focus or evade tokens, and modify one of their evasion dice to a focus. That is one mean bounty hunter!

PS 7 Tel Trevura – Determination, Hull Upgrade, Salvaged Astromech, Punishing One, “Gonk” = 50 points

Tel Tevura is an extremely hard to kill ship. Whenever he is destroyed, you instead remove all damage cards, and assign 4 face-down damage cards to him.Tel Trevura also has Determination and a Savaged Astromech which can cancel all face-up damage cards with the Pilot trait, and one with the Ship trait. This guy will be a pest to take down for sure. Punishing One adds an additional die to your primary weapon value. Add in a Hull Upgrade and he essentially has two more damage left when he comes back from the dead. And then Gonk can help you heal up those lost shields! Amazing!

Inquisitor TIE Advanced Prototype

PS 8 The Inquisitor – Push the Limit, Proton Rockets Autothrusters, TIE/v1 = 34 points

The Inquisitor is a mean ship that is able to treat Range 2-3 as 1 when firing with his Primary Weapon. The TIE/v1 title allows him to gain an evade token whenever he acquires a target lock. Add in Push the Limit and he can essentially perform 3 actions a turn! Once he reaches Range 1 his Proton Rockets will surely put the hurt on whichever target he is hunting down.

PS 5 Sabine Wren – Push the Limit, Phantom, Ezra Bridger, Phantom = 27 points

PS 7 Hera Syndulla – Anti-Pursuit Lasers, Reinforced Deflectors, Dorsal Turret, Ghost, “Zeb” Orrelios = 49 points

The new Ghost and Phantom ships are the most exciting new additions to the game of X-Wing. The crew from Rebels is ready to hit the scene and try their luck. The Ghost is truly a behemoth with 10 hull and 6 shields! The Attack Shuttle hides in the rear of the Ghost while in docked mode, and allows it to fire from its auxiliary arc, or from any equipped turret. Sabine Wren will be hard to pin down as in the Shuttle she will be able to perform a boost or barrel roll before she reveals a maneuver.

Push the Limit works so well with this ship by getting a free action after boosting or barrel rolling, and then revealing a green maneuver to clear stress. Hera Syndulla in the Ghost is all about getting in your face. Anti Pursuit Lasers allow you to roll one dice and any ship that has overlapped you suffers one damage an a hit or crit. Zeb Orrelios as a crew member allows you to fire at ships that have overlapped you as well. That s a potential of six damage! Reinforced Deflectors help you to recover shields as the Ghost has no agility to speak of.

That’s it for now X-Wing fans! I hope you are as excited as I am to get a hold of these new ships and try them out. What new builds will you make with Wave 8?

Don’t forget to get your ships when they release this Friday. Happy flying!
