RUMORS: New Chapter Traits & Tons of Legions Imperialis Rules

chaos rumors new wal hor warhammer games workshopCheck out all the rules rumors for Legions Imperialis, including the different Chapter traits and much more!

GW has released a decent number of rules for the game, so we’ll compare these leaks with them to see how close they are! With the game being pushed back, we have a little more time to speculate on the rules and get ready. Before we get into the rules, remember these are all rumors! Nothing is confirmed until GW says it is, so don’t get too excited or sad about the rules until GW puts them out.

The rumors come from Tabletop Standard.

Each round is divided into five phases. The most important thing to know here is that both players act within each of these phases, taking it in turns to activate their Detachments in Initiative order, according to hidden Orders that have been pre-assigned.

The first part of the rumor is obviously true, as GW put out the turn sequence, so this bodes well for the rest of the rumors. Next, let’s compare the Legion-specific rules.

Legiones Astartes rules 4

The White Scars rules are the same, but as they say, we’re not sure if more models will have Jink, and if it only applies to the fliers, then it won’t be too exciting. However, we assume by them giving a rule like this, there should be bikers at some point, and they would get the jink save.

We haven’t seen the Thousand Sons rules yet, but a 6+ shield generator save might be decent, but if that’s all they get, it’s pretty small compared to some Legions.

These Dark Angels’ rules rumors are pretty all over the place comparatively. They will be a little harder to build armies for, but they can gain a ton of different benefits, and you do them for each detachment.

Meaning you can take a few different detachments to gain a bunch of benefits.

How to Play Legions Imperialis 2This is one of the detachment types, but there will be more, so hopefully, it will be easy to fill in the requirements above to get the different benefits.

Supposedly for the Alpha Legion, you can either gain Infiltrate, Outflank, or Forward Deployment, meaning you will gain a ton of mobility. They want you to play with more infantry and walkers, as they get most of the benefits, whereas if you have other models, they can only gain one of the rules.

The Ultramarines have a great ability as they re-roll hits of 1! However, this only applies after you have scored a hit with another unit.

It makes sense the Emperor’s Children get tons of initiative stuff; however, they are both once per game, meaning use this when you really need to act first!

Rules Rumors for Legions Imperialis 5

Legiones Astartes rules 5Let’s start with the World Eaters’ confirmed rule, and it’s the exact same, which does give credence to the rest of the rules. Obviously, they will get bonuses for combat, so there is no surprise there.

The Word Bearers are true believers, and even if they are broken, you can still issue them orders. Since we don’t really know all the rules for breaking yet, it’s hard to say how often this will come into play.

Death Guard is unaffected by dangerous terrain and can make terrain features dangerous, which gives you a huge benefit as they do not affect you.

Iron Warriors will be great at scoring objectives, and if you’re trying to go into their deployment zone, good luck getting those objectives off them!

Legiones Astartes rules 6We’ve also seen the army rule from GW for Salamanders, and they will be far harder to break.

Solar Auxilia Rules Rumors

Rules Rumors for Legions Imperialis 7

Solar Auxilia Rules Legions Imperialis

Unlike their tall, ceramite-armoured allies (and enemies), the troops of the Solar Auxilia are not entirely self-sufficient during battle. Their vast armies rely on commanders to orchestrate them, and units with the Chain of Command keyword cannot receive orders other than Advance unless within the sphere of influence of models with the Solar Auxilia HQ special rule.

Legate Commanders have the widest aura of command, but you are limited to one per 1,500 points. They are backed up with Auxilia Tactical Command Detachments and Tank Commanders, who project smaller auras.

To start, GW confirmed you could only take 1 Legate Commander per 1,500 points, and the chain of command rule as well. This makes sense, as they shouldn’t be as coordinated as the Space Marines.

With the Solar Auxilia, if you have enough infantry together, you can even bring down some big armored guys in combat!

That does it for the rules rumors, be sure to check the video below from Tabletop Standard for all the details.
