Asmodee and Catan Studios announced the new Premium Catan 3D Edition board game is coming to stores in August- check it out!
Who likes playing on a flat board anyway? The long-awaited 3D box is hitting the shelves soon and will add a whole new layer (like 3D layers…) to the game! All the terrain pieces are based on the tiles created by the game designer Klaus Teuber, so you know it’s going to be good. This is on pre-order now, and will probably be limited, so if you want it, hop on the pre-order soon!
It’s kind of crazy to think this hasn’t really received a facelift sooner, as the game’s fanbase is continually on the rise. Especially considering the last time they did something like this was over 15 years ago. But now we don’t have to wait any longer, well till August, but that’s not too bad. The premium release will allow people who really love the game to get a game their friends will be jealous of. Let’s check out the new set!

This long-awaited 3D Edition of the classic CATAN base game is based on terrain tiles that were hand-sculpted by the game designer Klaus Teuber himself. All of the terrain is hand-painted for stunning color, and intricately designed player pieces are antiqued for a look that is full of history and character.
Right off the bat, you can tell how great all the terrain looks and it will really make the game that much more fun! Just like with a tabletop game, having better terrain always makes the game more fun!
With the game set to release in August, get those hobby dollars ready! The game is not going to be cheap, but if you love the game it could be worth it. Just remember, it’s on pre-order now and ships in August.
